The current champions, PSG, will be looking to defend their 12th title after a highly competitive season filled with many ups and downs for the Parisian club. Concerns were raised following the departure of club star Kylian Mbappé, who was their star player and Ligue 1’s top goalscorer. Will they be able to find a suitable replacement for the striker? Only time will tell. PSG also has the most skilled squad in the whole league made up of talented players such as rising star Xavi Simmons, to Italy’s own Donnarumma as well as many more names of the footballing world, a fact which will make their next campaign that much easier. Another notable mention is Brest, who will be looking to replicate last season’s performance where they pulled off an impressive 3rd place finish, far greater than the previous season where they only finished 14th. These changes in club standings clearly demonstrate the difference just one year can make to a club’s fortunes. Hopefully we get more of this in the upcoming season ahead. From the guidance of Luis Enrique who helped PSG win 3 domestic trophies last season to Eric Roy who was behind Brest’s comeback last season, managerial talent is key to the success of these teams in Ligue 1.
